Founded in 2017 by Kwang Joon Kim and Eunho Yang, the South Korea-based company AITRICS develops predictive AI technology for real-time clinical monitoring, to speed up the identification of patient deterioration and enhance early intervention.
Its core AI platform scans electronic health records and pulls in multiple vital metrics to forecast risks such as sepsis, cardiac arrest and mortality hours in advance. It also assists doctors in making medical evaluations, thereby improving hospital efficiency.
The start-up recently raised $24 million in a Series C funding round led by Premier Partners, Hanriver, Mirae Asset Venture Investment and ShinYoung Securities-BSK Investment, as well as newcomers such as KB Securities-Solidus Investment and SV Investment. The funding will be used to enhance R&D and expand into markets in Japan, Vietnam, Hong Kong, and North America.
