Belgian biotechnology company Aspect Analytics has raised Series A funding co-led by PMV and Capricorn Partners, with participation from KU Leuven, HERAN Partners, and Gemma Frisius Fund, as the Leuven-based startup scales its cloud-based platform for spatial multi-omics research and drug development.
Founded by CTO Marc Claesen and co-founder Thomas Moerman, Aspect Analytics provides a vendor-neutral bioinformatics platform that integrates spatial biology data from multiple technologies including mass spectrometry imaging, spatial transcriptomics, immunofluorescence, and traditional histology into unified analytical workflows. The platform addresses critical challenges in life sciences research by aiming to secure, collaborative analysis of petabyte-scale spatial biology datasets across distributed teams. With ISO 27001 certification for information security, the cloud-based solution supports automated quality control, personalised dashboards, and cross-disciplinary collaboration for complex biological investigations.
So far Aspect Analytics serves pharmaceutical companies, research institutions, and biotechnology firms conducting spatial multi-omics research for drug discovery and biomedical applications. The funding will accelerate platform development, expand the engineering team, and support international market expansion as demand grows for advanced spatial biology analysis tools in pharmaceutical research and precision medicine applications.
