Barcelona's NeuralTrust closes $20M seed to build the control layer beneath enterprise AI agent deployments

June 19, 2026 - 2 min read

When enterprises deploy AI agents across their operations, it is rarely possible to answer the question of what those agents are actually doing. Agents act autonomously, calling tools, accessing data and operating across systems in sequences that standard security monitoring is not designed to track. According to Gartner, 9% of enterprise GenAI applications experienced at least five minor security incidents in 2025. The analyst firm expects this figure to reach 25% by 2028, as agentic AI and MCP-based architectures become more widespread.

Barcelona-based company NeuralTrust, founded in 2022 by Joan Vendrell, Víctor García and Alejandro Domingo Salvador, has built a platform that provides enterprises with a single control layer for all AI agents operating within their environment. This covers agents developed in-house, those sourced from third-party vendors, and those embedded in platforms such as Copilot or Gemini. The platform runs across three products. TrustGate sits at the entry point for every model, tool, and MCP call, providing security teams with a consistent enforcement layer, regardless of the agent or platform making the request. TrustGuard monitors agent activity at runtime and acts on threats before they reach downstream systems. TrustLens maintains a continuously updated map of every agent deployed across the organisation, recording what each one is doing and what it can access. The architecture is designed so that customer data never passes through NeuralTrust's infrastructure; processing occurs within the customer's own environment.

NeuralTrust has recently closed a $20 million seed round, led by Alstin Capital and with participation from VentureFriends, Seaya, Kibo Ventures, Banc Sabadell, EA Ventures, Plug and Play Fund and Finaves, alongside public backing from the European Innovation Council and Spain's State Research Agency. The capital will support the development of the platform and broader support for the growing range of AI models, tools, and platforms in enterprise use.
