Better Futures raises €600K to make audit-ready engineering documentation a solved problem

May 29, 2026 - 2 min read

In regulated industries, documentation is both a legal and an operational obligation. Engineering teams in sectors such as aerospace, energy, life sciences and advanced manufacturing produce a constant stream of structured documents, including technical offers, certification records, test reports, quality files and compliance submissions. Each document must be traceable, consistent with applicable standards, and auditable. Yet, most of this work is currently carried out manually by senior engineers, who are also responsible for the technical work itself.

Better Futures, an AI company founded by Anthony McLoughlin and based in Dublin, has developed the EVA platform to address this issue. Specifically designed for governed documentation automation in regulated engineering settings, the system integrates relevant rules, industry standards, templates and domain expertise into the generation pipeline. This produces structured outputs that are traceable and ready for audit, without requiring extensive manual revisions. As McLoughlin puts it, EVA is neither a chatbot nor an agent - it is a governed AI platform built for the specific trust requirements of complex engineering documentation at scale.

In May 2026, Better Futures secured €600K in funding from private angel investors and Enterprise Ireland through its High Potential Start-Up (HPSU) programme, bringing the company's total funding to €1.1M. The capital will be used to enhance the platform and foster customer growth in regulated industries.
