Entry-level jobs are AI's low-hanging fruit

AI is reshaping our society in countless ways, one of the most talked about areas being the future of jobs and the impact on the labour market. While overall unemployment sits at historic lows, entry-level job seekers are gradually facing higher barriers of entering into the workforce and finding a position. Some call this the "new grad gap", meaning the increase of the gap between graduate unemployment in comparison to the wider economy´s unemployment levels, especially seen across the US and Europe.

The reason is simple: AI excels at exactly what entry-level workers used to do. Research, data analysis, report writing, document review—these tasks that once required larger numbers of junior employees can now be handled by a few senior workers armed with an AI tool. Law firms are cutting paralegal positions, consulting companies are shrinking their analyst classes, and tech firms are hiring fewer junior developers. This results into the reshaping of the corporate ladder, making it more difficult to take that first step into professional careers.
