GreenPT builds AI chat platform on European renewable infrastructure

Founded by Robert Keus and Cas Burggraaf, GreenPT operates a GPT-powered chat platform running on renewable energy and hosted within Europe for GDPR compliance. The platform uses self-hosted open-source models (Mistral mini for its GreenL service and OpenAI's GPT-OSS 120B for GreenR).

The Dutch company implements three technical approaches: sustainable hosting on European infrastructure powered by renewable energy, model optimization that reduces computing power, and technical methods including model compression and quantization. Core to their business model is that user data remains on their infrastructure without external API calls.

The platform's environmental measures include hosting with sustainable providers, reusing server heat for community heating, and technical optimizations to reduce energy consumption. While AI model training occurred on standard infrastructure, inference and hosting operations use renewable resources.
