Hacktivate AI Brussels

Pierre-Alexandre Balland, AI World's Chief Data Scientist, will participate in Hacktivate AI on September 23rd in Brussels. The event represents Europe's first policy hackathon designed to accelerate AI adoption across the European economy.

Organized by OpenAI and Allied for Startups, the hackathon brings together entrepreneurs, policymakers, academics, and civil society representatives to co-design practical policy solutions. Executive Vice-President Henna Virkkunen will deliver the opening keynote, followed by hands-on policy hacking sessions with over 50 experts.

The format breaks new ground in policy innovation. Rather than traditional conferences producing position papers, participants work in real-time to prototype actionable solutions. The diverse expertise ensures policy frameworks consider both regulatory requirements and market realities.

Precisely, the data science team at CEPS focuses on designing smarter policy frameworks using AI capabilities, believing there exists immense untapped potential in applying AI to European governance.

The timing proves crucial as Europe shifts from AI regulation to implementation. While the EU has established frameworks through the AI Act, the focus now moves toward practical adoption strategies that maintain European competitiveness while preserving values-driven AI development.
