Italian cybersecurity startup IdentifAI has secured €5 million in Series A funding led by United Ventures, bringing total funding to €7.2 million less than a year after their seed round, as the Milan-based company scales its AI-powered platform for detecting deepfakes and digital misinformation across images, videos, and voice recordings.

Founded in 2024 by cybersecurity experts Marco Ramilli and Marco Castaldo, IdentifAI addresses the growing threat of AI-generated disinformation through proprietary detection models that evolve in real-time to adapt to new generative AI technologies. The platform analyzes content for subtle signals of manipulation or synthetic generation, providing confident identification of deepfakes and fake news content.

Central to IdentifAI's undertaking is their advanced AI detection technology that continuously learns and adapts to emerging deepfake techniques, ensuring accuracy even as generative AI tools become more sophisticated. The platform offers both a web interface for individual users and API access for developers and enterprises requiring real-time verification capabilities for content authenticity.

The company serves businesses, governments, and individuals seeking to verify digital content authenticity in an era where AI-generated media is increasingly difficult to distinguish from genuine content. With deepfake technology becoming more accessible and threatening information integrity worldwide, IdentifAI's real-time detection capabilities position the company to capture significant market share as demand grows for reliable content verification solutions.
