Egyptian AI startup Intella has raised $12.5 million in Series A funding led by Prosus Ventures, with participation from 500 Global, Wa'ed Ventures, Hala Ventures, Idrisi Ventures, and HearstLab, as the company scales its market-leading Arabic speech intelligence platform serving over 25 dialects across the MENA region.
Founded in 2021 by CEO Nour Taher and CTO Omar Mansour, Intella has emerged as strong player in dialectal Arabic speech services, achieving a self reported accuracy of 95.73% with its proprietary speech-to-text models. The company addresses a critical gap in AI technology for Arabic speakers.
Intella's comprehensive platform includes Contact Center Intelligence for call analysis, Survey tools for real-time market research, and Voice transcription capabilities. Further, the company recently launched Ziila, an AI-powered digital human assistant that facilitates voice-based shopping in Egyptian Arabic, demonstrated through a partnership with Jumia Egypt.
The funding will accelerate product development, regional expansion, and R&D investments as Intella doubles down on building Arabic-first conversational AI agents. With Arabic being the fifth most spoken language globally the market opportunity is substantial. Intella just relocated its headquarters to Saudi Arabia and serves enterprises across finance, telecommunications, and government sectors.
