Traditional meteorological models often struggle to react quickly to real-time weather changes.
Founded in 2021 by Yuriy Melnichek and Alexander Matveenko, Rainbow Weather is developing an AI-driven platform designed for hyper-accurate, real-time forecasting, with the aim of addressing the growing demand for precision in an increasingly volatile global climate. Fusing high-resolution data from satellites, radar and ground-level weather stations with other inputs, such as smartphone barometers, the platform allows for a spatial resolution of 1 square kilometre and minute-by-minute updates.
The Warsaw-based start-up recently raised $5.5 million in seed funding from a syndicate of investors to extend its forecasting horizon and diversify the environmental parameters it monitors.
