According to the World Economic Forum's Future of Jobs Report 2025, 59% of the global workforce will require reskilling or upskilling by 2030, with skill gaps cited by 63% of employers as the primary barrier to business transformation. More concretely, research by the Politecnico di Milano's HR Innovation Practice Observatory found that in 2024, only 35% of Italian companies were able to identify and develop hidden talent within their own organisations.

Skillvue is a Milan-based HR tech company founded in 2021 by Nicolò Mazzocchi and Simone Patera. Their platform enables companies to adopt a skills-based approach across HR processes, from recruitment and internal mobility to talent development and performance management.

At the core of the product are AI-powered Skills Assessment Agents that conduct asynchronous assessments of candidates and employees, producing structured, role-specific evaluations of hard skills, soft skills, digital competencies, and motivation. The company maintains a dedicated psychometrics team,to continuously refine its assessment methodology.

Skillvue raised a total of €8.3 million across three rounds, most notably however between 2023 and 2024, the company grew its annual recurring revenue eightfold, and the team doubled from 10 to 20 employees, expanding their presence to other areas in Italy as well as Germany, and Canada. Notable clients showing Skillvue effectiveness include Carrefour, Randstad, Credem, Douglas, Unipol, UniCredit, and Mediaset, with a primary focus on retail, banking, and insurance sectors.
